Wedding fever and excitement was sweeping across the nation leading up to Saturday 19th May 2018. Today there was a certain Royal Wedding happening, but Meghan wasn't the only stunning bride getting married today. Vanessa awoke to a beautiful morning in Cornwall and tied the knot with Martin in gloriously warm sunshine. An intimate gathering of close family and friends witnessed these two beautiful people say "I do".
The day began in St Austell Registry Office and a couple of confused faces and questions appeared when Vanessa brought a lovely juicy orange along for Martin during the wedding ceremony. Martin certainly understood the meaningful gesture and explain's Media Naranja which means "Our half-orange", which we use to describe, being head over heals in love, one's sweetheart, one's beautifully perfect other half. It's these kind of unspoken symbols of our love and understanding that we have experienced throughout our relationship.
Quite simply they both felt that until they met each other their other half was missing.
Media Naranja - half orange
From today the orange would always certainly be whole.
Martin and Vanessa lived on different continents and met each other on a third whilst on holiday four years ago. They believed right from the beginning that their love would bring them here today. Once they knew the other half of their orange nothing could get in the way of their love. Martin and Vanessa's souls were deeply connected from the moment they met and both knew that they had finally found the 'one'. Living half way across the globe from each other posed a challenge, but if you want something bad enough, like anything worthwhile in life, it never comes easy.
o 480 hours of skype phone calls (with an 8 hour time difference!)
o 8 months of being apart from one another!
o 8928 miles each time they flew from Cornwall to Canada and vice versa (several times each)
Carbis Bay Hotel
Carbis Bay looked absolutely tropical in the Cornish sunshine and could of literally been anywhere in the world. The couple have both travelled extensively and could appreciate how stunning the view out to sea was on their special day. A beautiful moment to experience together in Cornwall and remember forever their perfect wedding day in the hot sunshine.
Without question, it's easy to see that Martin and Vanessa are best friends, soulmates and one another's half-orange. They look forward to each day and share an unrelenting need to care for one another. Love wins.
Huge congratulations to Martin and Vanessa, thank you so much for letting me document your special day. I will never look at an orange the same again, lovely to meet you both, enjoy each other every day.

"Having looked at 14 other photographers, Chris Symonds clearly stood out from the rest. Chris was professional, provided good communication and clearly has a true passion for photography. Having met Chris prior to our wedding for a consultation we walked away with the feeling that he understood us as a couple and what we wanted to achieve on our big day. The day of our wedding went perfectly, Chris worked with all our guests and family to achieve what can only be described as absolute perfection. We knew Chirs was talented having looked at previous weddings he had photographed, but the photographs Chris produced on the day left my Wife and I in tears of happiness. We would highly recommend Chris Symonds as your Photographer, you will not be disappointed." - Mr & Mrs Chapman
